How I Slept Through a Pandemic

Okay, let’s be real. This post isn’t about how I slept through COVID-19 but it is about how I slept throughout COVID-19. Confused? Well, one week before the pandemic hit Halifax and everything shut down, I received my Endy mattress. This 100 day review is long overdue because I’ve been sleeping on it for about 100 more than that but I’ve already had multiple friends ask me how I really feel about this mattress, and these are my honest thoughts.

The mattress

Endy markets itself as the keeper of good sleep in Canada, and they’re not wrong. This mattress is phenomenal. The foam is soft and springy to the touch but firm and supportive to lie on. The material of the cover is so plush that I often spend hours on my bare mattress between sheet changes! My last mattress was super soft and I constantly had pain in my upper back and shoulders but I haven’t had any since I started sleeping on my Endy. It’s zero transfer technology means you can have your coffee on one end of the bed and your toddler jumping up and down on the other with zero spillage. It’s temperature neutral so you’re not getting too hot or too cold, and you only have to rotate it 180 degrees, not flip it, once every 3-6 months. It seems like they’ve literally thought of everything, down to the machine washable mattress cover in case of spills. I feel like I’ve learned something new about this mattress every month I’ve had it!

The pillows

Endy was kind enough to send me two pillows, and let me tell you, they’re unbelievable. In the five months I’ve been using them, they’ve stayed firm yet puffy as ever, and the foam inside is removable in case you need to adjust it to your comfort levels. What lights me up is the fact that they provide you with a mesh bag to store the foam you might choose to remove, and that doubles as a travel pillow. WILD.

The ease

Let me break down how easy everything to do with Endy has been in the last 200 days. I found the mattress delivered right to my doorstep. I set up the mattress and pillows on my own in 17 minutes. I rotated the mattress on my own in under 1 minute. I unzipped and spot cleaned the mattress cover in 5 minutes. I found answers to all of my questions (as well as more fun facts!) on their website with no issues. So much thought has gone into the customer experience at this company, and it shows.

The sleep

I only truly understood how much of an impact this mattress had on my sleep once I started travelling again. Now that things have eased up in Nova Scotia and we’re allowed to travel within the Atlantic Bubble, I’ve been spending a lot more weekends away. When I return to my Endy is when I realize how much deeper my sleep is here, and how much better rested my mind and body are when I wake up. I cannot say enough about how much I love my sleeping experience now!

The company

They’re Canadian, and one of their many community outreach programs include replacing hospital mattresses so that on-call doctors can be better rested throughout the pandemic. What’s not to love!

So do I recommend the Endy mattress? A whopping, hands down, resounding, yes! A high quality sleep experience at a comparatively affordable price point, it’s a product that’s going to last you at least 10 years (that’s how long their warranty is). Totally and completely worth the investment, in my opinion.
